FRAMING
If you wish me to take care of framing, that is not a problem. I work with a great local framing shop whos quality is flawless. They have a large stock of frames readily available, but if you are after something different, they will get it in for you. Please just ask and I can show you some popular frames and their prices.
Tips for taking photographs, if you dont already have one in mind
First and foremost it is important to state that you must really like the photo - that will be the image that ends up on the wall, what i see, is what you get - warts and all! (though small requests can be accommodated, such as tidy up hair, lose double chin or erase a bit of slobber!.....)
I understand only too well that it can be a tricky business trying to get that perfect portrait - I am also a professional photographer and have had many fun times with children and animals! If you prefer, I can come and take the photos for you. I charge £25 per hour (this does not include the images, but they can be purchased if you wish).
Try to fill the photo with your subjects head and shoulders or full body - the more detail the better. Take the photo at eye level - this is generally best and always focus on the eyes. Try to take it in a well lit area with no harsh shadows - if very sunny, in the shade of a building is better, so it gives an even tone, or the subject can be back lit (sun behind the subject). Natural light is better - try to avoid flash - though it can be used to fill in harsh shadows under eyes in strong sunlight. Under exposed is better than over exposed.
When dealing with animals, I find it best to have the speed setting on your camera set quite high - over 500, or just put your camera on sport mode! They don't tend to be compliant with requests of 'say cheese'! Ears pricked, alert and interested tends to make a better visual image, so use treats and unusual sounds to get their attention. Having another person to help is invaluable.
If you are using digital, my advice is to take loads! If you cant decide, send me as many images as you wish and I can help you sift through them.
I do prefer digital images, but if a photograph is the only image you have, it must be as detailed as possible, if using digital, use as high a pixel camera as you can - so the image will not pixelate - ie no phone images please, unless of good quality.

If you wish to have a different size other than those listed, please contact me to discuss your requirements and I will quote you as per your preferences.
A 25% deposit is required before drawing will commence. When the image is finished I will email images prior to sending them, and if you like them, once I have received payment, I will send them out the same day. There is an extra charge for postage and packing.
If for some reason you are not happy with the image (which I have to say has never happened), there will be nothing to pay, but the 25% deposit and the image will be retained.
All images will be sent mounted and ready for framing.
